Some of my work was featured in Urban Ink magazine this month...I really don't know wasup with Urban Ink promoting untrained tattooist in their magazine these days... A lot of scratchers have been getting features it's crazy... But hey I can't change this industry alone....thanks for putting my art in your pages once again and props to the photographer and for Rick for letting me tattoo him

Inked Magazines Model Search...

Hands down Inked magazine have the flyest most beautiful inked models in the world...I one day dream of having my own magazine with soulful beautiful sistas of color and style! Urban Ink TRY but focus too much on the ASS and not enough on the art....I know a lot of black women with full SLEEVES and backpieces...so I guess I will save those women for my own tattoo and art magazine...Inked magazine holla at me, lets do a stylist, urban tattoo magazine!!! Here's baby sis aka Lil' Magic aka Imani aka Indian Pussy's Urban Ink feature...damn the family is taking over that magazine...DRIPPING STARS allday! I have been working with Pinz-n-Needlez for about 3 years now I think and I have watch this young lady grow into an amazing tattoo artist...she just had an art show at City of Ink right before Corey's art show...and it good to see Imani again....I can't wait to get back to DC and tattoo again...much love sis!

City of Ink's Sophie C'est La Vie in URBAN INK...also features Imani & Goldi Gold

I woke up pretty early today, my son was over his grandmothers, and my wife was in bed so I decided to go to Vimby.com and look at some videos to get inspired so I could get in the mood to start some new drawings for my book. I got a message on Facebook from Chris (the owner of Pinz-N-Needlez) saying that the new Urban Ink magazine was on newsstands and that it featured his artist Imani and our artist, Sophie in this months issue. A few hours later, I got a phone call from Mel-Man (another COI Artist)telling me the samething Chris had told me. So I called up Demanye and told him to run over to Walmart and pick up a copy and use his cellphone camera, take some photos so I can read the article...he sent me the photos from his cell, but his cell SUCKS...I couldn't read anything just the first few lines of Sophie's article...yeah Demayne you suck for sending me those lame ass pictures...but thanks for TRYING (I guess if thats what you call trying..lol) he called me back a few minutes later saying Goldi Gold was also this months issue...so thats a REALLY good look for the family as a whole....Sophie, Imani, and Goldi all in the same issue...all my dreams are coming true and it's a real blessings to see my people get their SHINE...they ALL deserve it...once I get my own copy of Urban Ink I will post better pictures...you know sometimes you have to do things yourself if you want it done right..LOL I bet Demayne was thinking "This nigga crazy it's sunday I'm off work, I care less about yo' damn blog!"...LOL I love you anyway busta!...LOL

Congratz Sophie, Imani, and Goldi Goldi for this nationwide exposure...now HUSTLE your articles, and make MONEY!

PS...Urban Ink called my brother, "THE GREAT TUKI CARTER" I love that style shit!

City of Ink's Mel-Man featured in "URBAN INK" this month (page 88)

City of Ink's very own MEL-MAN aka Melvin Todd is featured in this months Urban Ink magazine. Tuki found Mel, on myspace and after seeing his tattoo talents and artwork we decided to hire him as a tattoo artist for City of Ink. He's been professionally tattooing for 5 years now. Melvin was trained in the art of tattooing down in Alabama, and has always worked in a professional tattoo shop. He's one of the coolest laidback tattoo artists I know...so congratz on your Urban Ink feature bruh.

Me, Tuki Carter, and Melvin Todd are now all featured artists in Urban Ink Magazine...Sophie's article in Urban Ink will be featured next...and we are working on Corey Davis story also....how things are moving all 6 tattoo artists from COI will ALL be featured in the pages of Urban Ink...City of Ink the "Motown" of tattooing...we promote our artists!

INKED Magazine page 100-101....it's our turn!

Go to Borders books or Barnes & Nobles and pick up the lastest April issue of INKED Magazine. The City of Ink is featured on page 100-101. Props to Adam for writing a dope 2 page spread about our movement in ATL...we are honored, and thankful for this moment. Mr. Soul got a call from Goldi Gold and said that Borders on Ponce has the new INKED magazine on sale right now. We are the first all black artist staff (and first Atlanta tattoo shop) to be featured in the pages of INKED magazine.

PS..Mel-Man aka Melvin Todd from The City of Ink is also featured in the new issue of URBAN INK magazine. I haven't seen his article yet, but I'm excited for the young man. I can't wait to see his plaque hanging up on the walls of C.O.I. Sophie just did your interview with Urban Ink a few days ago..so be on the look out for your feature in that magazine next month (I think)...but for now go support us and pick up the new INKED issue (page 100-101) and the lastest Urban Ink magazine featuring Melvin Todd.

My Ink brother, Juan Carlos....PROPS!

I'm very proud of tattoo artist, Juan Carlos (of Marked Tattoos). Over 7 years ago I met him though my close friend, DJ Wildlife. I ended up doing a tattoo in honor of his mother on his back. Since Juan was an artist I tried to talk him into letting me train him in tattooing but he was strong into the graffiti scene at that time. A few years later Tuki talked him into joining us over at our private Prophet Art Studio on Peachtree St. Tuki hired Juan, and we both started training him in both of our styles in our own way. Later Corey Davis joined us and we opened, Mitchell Street Customs. On Mitchell St. I seen Juan's tattoo style grown into it's own. When Juan left the nest to tattoo on his own I knew it would be good for him. He would learn more about the business side of tattooing. He would meet all the snakes and liars in this business and come out on top as one of the most popular tattoo artist in the urban tattoo scene. Now Juan is touring with Lil' Wayne and has been featured in Urban Ink & Blender magazine. I love you bruh...reach for the top and NEVER stop. You are a tattoo artist and there is no life like it in the world. Me and Tuki VERY proud of you and we are happy that you have now started your own tattoo family with Marked (Juan, Trevor, & Joe) Many blessings!

Lil Wayne and The Game Mark Up with Urban Ink

Latest issue of tattoo magazine features cover stories on Hip Hop’s biggest stars.
