Tuki Carter & the Art Battle

I alway miss Tuki's Hollyweerd shows because of work but Saturday night I got off work early to see Tuki in action in this art battle...I did it last year so this time it was my brothers turn.... I get excited when I see Tuki doing art... I know music is his passion but it was art that brought me, him & City of Ink together...art was something we did for a living to feed our families we never knew it would grow into an art lifestyle movement all over the world...i'm very proud of Tuki Carter....oneday I will own one of his paintings.....here is a look at the painting he did for the battle step by step...amazing talent he did the painting the sameday as the event (like always) me & Tuki are planning our very first artshow together I'm excited about that!!

A Cool Saturday @ City of Ink

Yesterday was a good day at City of Ink....Saturdays always have a cool energy but you could tell the college students are back in Atlanta....even a few friends dropped by.. Which is few these days... People usally think we don't like visitors when we are working but the fact is after work we don't get to see anyone so when y'all drop by to pay a visit and just check up on us it do mean a lot to us....the "walk-in" tattoo team did their thing yesterday.... And all the other artists were busy with their appointments











Once night hit... Some of our friends dropped by on their bikes.... It's always good to see them...they had an artist with them who's looking into getting professional tattoo training....I wish him the best luck in his path in tattooing...







So of our favorite DC clients came down yesterday also... One got a Michael Jackson tattoo by Melvin Todd....she friend bought me a bag of blunts... I needed those... And Sophie did an American Tradational Eagle on the other DC appointment....both pieces turned out dope.... I was busy tattooing my friends from back home, Samad & Aaliyah....I will post those pics in a sec

This Tuesday, Tuki Carter tattooed Rick Ross & Wiz Khalifa for the music video for the "Super High" Remix also featuring Currency... City of Ink had to close the shop to the public so the filming could be done...Tuki did his thing and will also be featured in the video as the tattoo artist.....Rick Ross always looks out for Tuki & City of Ink...so much love to their brother....me & Sophie was on the plane coming back to we missed everything but I heard the blunts were rolled up and the vibe was fun & beautiful...I will post the video once it's sent to me

Twitter Netwerking

A lot of people don't really know how to use social netwerks to make business moves... Some people just use it to talk shit or be "social" at City of Ink we are taught to use social netwerks like Twitter & Facebook for marketing, promotion, and business reasons... We can be "social" once the people are at the tattoo shop... I woke up this morning with a RT (retweet) that Rick Ross was looking for Tuki Carter on Twitter





I'm sure a lot of people then sent Ricky Ross Tuki's twitter info... I also hit him to make sure he was giving the right info for Tuki


Ross then hit up Tuki @tukicarter from all the RT's coming from people on Twitter that knew Tuki... I called Tuki to wake him up and told him to hit up Ross so he could get part 2 of his tattoo session done asap...Tuki hit him and now it's on again.... See how simple Twitter can be used to "NETWERK" if your not on there playing around.....this is just an example of online marketing

Lotus Dragonfly: SLEEVE

This is my 2nd session on this arm...it's started off as a cover-up.. She gave me 100% creative control on the colors, ideas, shit everything....so it didn't feel like "WORK" this is something I would have done for free... But she still paid me..my back started hurting so I decided to stop right at the dragonfly...the next season I will add more colors...Tuki Carter showed me a coloring shortcut that cut my tattoo time in half so I got a lot more skin covered in a shorter time... Thanks bruh!!
