Icons by Jim Lee

I was in the comic book store the other day and saw a book from my favorite comic book artist "Jim Lee" I have been following his work since the 90's when he was the artist for X-Men... I collect anything this man does... I only wish he would go back to Marvel Comics with his talent... I'm not a fan of DC comics I can't front.. I was raised on Marvel...it would be a dream come true if he returned back to X-Men again...but I can't be picky so if I have to buy a DC comic just to see the art of Jim Lee so be it... I wanted to buy his book "Icons" but I'm saving up money to open the Brooklyn & DC City of Ink stores... So I had to cut back on my comic books, magazines, sneakers, and even weed...the things we have to give up to stay focused on your dreams & goals... If this book popped up at the shop for me it would REALLY make my day... Hint hint...so if your a fan of amazing comic book art... Check out Jim Lee's ICONS. That pencil drawing cover is just beautiful to me!

Getting there....

I have been hard at work, trying to finish up my book "Before I'm Gone: The Art & Life of Miya Bailey" and getting my art studio together... Tonight I put together a desk my mother bought me for my bday...this new desk will be used for my water colors.... I have been working on a few new styles using different mediums.....I also have a drawing desk from Ikea today that will be used for large illustration work.... I will give yall a sneak preview of my new work very soon...here are a few update pics from my art studio:

These pieces are from Marvel Comics....I'm a HUGE X-Men fan!

My homie, Justin Huff gave me this piece... I love this photography, graphics, & art

My son, Prophet Ayim Bailey did this painting for me when he was 5 years old... I love it

An artist by the name "Blessed" did this oil painting of me and my wife years ago... I got it hanging by the door across from Prophet's painting to always remind why I work so hard... My family is everything to me.. We are "The Bailey Family"

My love for Marvel Comics....

In this stressful world we call the "Tattoo Industry" I escape in comic books...I have been collecting X-Men comics and other Marvel books since I was in 3rd grade..it brings peace to me...and I'm a lover of fantasy and good writing...and as an artist you know I LOVE it...here is a piece I did up in DC at Pinz-N-Needlez...this dude wanted me to use his favorite characters ( had to talk him out of the DC comics stuff..lol) so I used Punisher, Wolverine, and Gambit...alot of people THINK I just do colorful soulful or girlie stuff...but I do it ALL when I'm asked...and this brought me back to my old style of tattooing...no stencil..just sharpie markers...enjoy..
