Tuki's Kicks

I was going to bed...Me, Dreamer, Chris, & Torry were at my art studio talking and looking at a few books....then decided to ride over to MJQ to meet up with Tuki....when hanging with City of Ink, the first thing I do is look at everyones show game...it's a stupid thing I guess we do to keep from getting too bored with Atlanta.... Tuki had on some classic 1993 Nike Air Carnavor....I remember in 95 he had a pair in college... Props bruh.... You repped very well for the "City of Ink" lifestyle....fashion is a form of expression.... And it can sometimes reflect the inside of a persons mind...the "Fresh"

My 3pm appointment was late so I picked up the lastest XXL magazine....the homie, Pill is on the cover and Hollyweerd is on page 59 on the "Strength in Numbers" article.... I'm very proud of my brothers....I actually LIKE this issue of XXL and not because my crew in it.. but because Its the Freshmen issue and I love to hear the new voices of this new hip-hop scene.... I have my eye on J.Cole, he's from NC so it good to see a fellow NC brother making moves and props to Donnis another one reppin for Atlanta....it's beautiful yall so buy this issue!

For Oct, Nov, and Dec..I will only be taking LARGE tattoo appointments..a lot of my LOYAL clients are very happy about this because I can spend more time with one client at a time those months..and some of my clients are upset because they want me to do small tattoos...I have been tattooing for 16 years and I'm at a point of my career where I want to pass the torch to younger tattoo artists I feel who will do smaller tattoos better than I can...I LOVE doing big pieces, shit I'm in LOVE with doing sleeves, backpieces, side rib pieces, and legs...I have been studying a lot if Shige's work (yellowblaze.net) and the way his work flows covering so much of the human body is PURE beauty...I'm looking for new muse, human canvas so do LARGE pieces..I will even do them for FREE..I would like my LOYAL clients to TRUST me and please let "THE 4" dripping stars of COI do the smaller work for me....they do large tattoo too..don't get it twisted..all 4 are amazing talents..but I really want to move away from small "walk-in" style tattooing...I feel I will be happier...and if you believe in my dreams you would do your research and check out Melvin Todd, Corey Davis, Sophie, and Chris McAdoo...I want to REALLY introduce the world to the "4" they ARE City of Ink...they are the ARTISTS, and they are open for walk-ins 6 days a week. Each artist have their own style of tattooing...no clones...but ALL were trained so they can add on to MY work and do MY style of tattooing when needed...we are family here so I don't mind my clients letting for of the COI artists ink them....my beef only with the ones who go to other shops after I spend YEARS with Tuki Carter training these young artist...and I PROMISE you each one is making a solid name in this tattoo business...starting low as $40 for walk-ins...they guys are trendsetters....watch out world for the "CHOSEN 4"

Yesterday was a cool day. I was on my way to a business meeting when Demyane (the manager) hit me up saying there were some film makers at the shop waiting for me. Demanye FORGET to tell me I was doing an interview for a doc film called "I am A Dream Chaser" about 10 people who followed their dreams in life...I will get back on that the film on the next blog...when I got to the shop Tuki, Chris and Dreamer had to leave for sound check...by the looks of the cameras and the crew I knew I would miss both my business meeting and the Hollyweerd show...I did the interview (they asked some of the BEST questions any writers have asked me) so it went very well...they will be back on saturday to finish the filming..so if your in ATL drop by and be apart of this...I hate I missed ANOTHER Hollyweerd show...but Tuki just showed me this youtube video someone taped lastnight...I love this song props to Spree for producing a hit..hope NY treating you good bruh you deserve it...time for me to hit the barber shop..I will hit yall later...blessings, Miya Bailey

Ok yall TONIGHT City of Ink presents "The Last Minute" I want yall to party to the last minute like its your last day on Earth...let go of ALL stress and worries...be yourself, express yourself and come out TONIGHT for the COI party....I have missed the Royal..I know they changed the name to "Vice" but it's still the Royal to ME...so I hope to see all yall out tonight...I have a lot of shit on my mind so I need to be surrounded by all my old and new friends...it's time to reunite the old family and party like we use too..no egos..no negative energy..BUT LOVE yall!...all the money made tonight will go to buying NEW tattoo chairs for City of Ink...see yall tonight...time for me to get ready for some tattoos...blessings, Miya Bailey

The Last Minute.....Saturday JULY 11th

Fadia hit me up when I was up in the mountains (Asheville) visiting a dying friend on his last days on earth. She asked me if City of Ink could host a party over at VICE (the old Royal) I was feeling REALLY down seeing my friend in so much pain and just waiting for peace in death...so it was perfect timing..I called up Tuki and asked him was he down with hosting a party there and he was down..so Fadia gave us saturday July 11...I have had A LOT of my mind lately...losing close friends...seeing my hometown struggle because there are no jobs...working on the new VIP private rooms at COI...it's been a crazy few months...but I'm here and I'm thankful for life....I'm not always the most social person, but it's always cool to be surrounded by your love ones and old friends...but I only like to party when I deserve it...and personally I don't think I deserve it until I have reach all my goals (which are finishing the VIP tattoo rooms, finding me a loft so I can paint and draw in private, and a BIG house for my family) so I decided to use the money from the party to buy Corey, Sophie, and Chris new tattoo chairs...I do miss that old Royal vibe, seeing Grip, Protron, Hollyweerd, Sean Falyon, Muffy, Fadia, and others....so lets make this shit a family reunion! Business is doing AMAZING at the shop and I'm blessed but LIFE has been very stressful for me...but this party will help out...so I how to see everyone...I have missed yall!

Last thursday Hollyweerd hosted LOVE Thursdays at Sutra Lounge...it was a BEAUTIFUL turn out...so tonight it's City of Ink's turn to host again (same damn team just different name..lol) It's FREE allnight...I know some of yall have to work but fuck it...enjoy life it's short...have fun with us tonight..I will be in the back on the low low doing want I do...chilling and putting something in the air...many blessings and enjoy the vibe of City of Ink and LOVE Thursdays @ Sutra...I will be there right after my last tattoo appointment tonight...
