A Little Bit Of Everything

Got a little mix of doodles that the guys here at the Bunker made over the last couple of weeks.

Yet another owl by Willem.
 Looks like owls are going to be the new thing in 2012. Wolves and koi fish are sooo 2011.

Mehdi finally got to finishing the feng huang sleeve, a lot of color and detail went into this one.

Florencio finished up this Mary and angel sleeve a couple of days ago.


Last but not least, I got two little script pieces by Willem.
Got to love what the later one says.

Clever Aint Wise

Owls are a group of birds that belong to the order Strigiformes. Most are solitary and nocturnal. Owls hunt mostly small mammals, insects, and other birds, although a few species specialize in hunting fish.



Unlike folklore has it, owls aren't very smart. There are no known records of any owls having college degrees. Let alone attending college in the first place.


Other interesting facts about owls:

- Unlike their color would suggest, owls do not taste like chocolate.
- It’s a well-known fact that owls do not pay taxes.
- In ancient folklore owls are viewed as harbingers of bad luck, ill-health, or death. The biggest thing I´ve seen an owl bring is a large-sized rat.

2 Seconds Of Memory

The goldfish is a freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae. It was one of the earliest fish to be domesticated, and is one of the most commonly kept aquarium fish.



Unlike folklore has it, goldfish do not have a memory-span of only two seconds but have a memory-span of at least three months and can distinguish between different shapes, colors and sounds. They also tend to be great subjects for tattoos.

Other interesting facts about goldfish:

- Unlike their color would suggest, goldfish do not taste like carrots.
- Unlike their name suggest, they are not made of real gold.
- It's a well-known fact that goldfish do not pay for sex.
- If goldfish would happen to have legs instead of fins and lungs instead    of gills, they probably would not have been refered to as fish.
- It is thought that goldfish have no concept of time, since there are no known records of goldfish wearing watches.

I had this really cool quote I wanted to start this post off with, but I can't remember what it was.
So I'll start off with a completely random quote.

Now we got that out-of-the-way, it's time for the picture section of this intellectual post.


I had this picture in line to get posted for a while, but before I could get to it Mehdi had already done the next session on it, so you get two for the price of one! Now, how's that for a deal!?


Still not completely finished, the japanese skyscraper in the back there needs a couple of layers of exterior paint.

Furthermore we had some leprechauns over all the way from Ireland.

It was off-season in rainbow-country so Gillian and her friends got a chance to leave the pot of gold unguarded and hop on over the big pond, to get Gillian's sleeve started by Mehdi.
Ironic that she works for Disney aswell.... ( get it? being a leprechaun and all...)

Gillian! If you read this, someone hacked into the bunker blog and wrote all of this! I'm innocent! And I hope you don't hurt me the next time you come over. Thanks for your understanding.

Ducksauce

Roger wants everybody to know that he loves Donal Duck and he finished this chestpiece a couple of days ago. Half fresh, half healed so the contrasts are a bit messed up now, but you get the idea.

Mehdi added a little piece to fill up Charlie's 3/4 to the wrist of a Indonesian dancer lady.

A little one Florencio did on a friend and fellow tattooer from Argentina.

Roger the fierce got to get nasty with little Xanthe's palm.
He also got to do the nasty on this other girls shoulder. With a little framed picture.
And, with that we conclude todays picture section on the blog.

Now, some of you sharp-eyed observant readers out there might have noticed that, yesterday the blog changed yet another 23902 times.
That however will no longer happen, since I'm sticking with how it looks now, clean and simple.

Unfinished Business Getting Finished And Stuff

Got a couple of unfinished pieces that got finished and healed and what not and a Medusa by Florencio.

 Florencio finished up this one with a couple more details, now it's done.

The dragon Willem did came by with its client, to get a photo taken of the healed piece.

Vikinger Fra Helvete

We had an awesome week here at the new shop. We could really get used to this whole new setting, I think.

Willem and I are sitting outside, next to a nice little fire we got started here, while I'm writing the blog, and winding down from a hectic but fun week.


Word of our new huble abode travels fast and far nowadays. Yesterday we got attacked and plundered by a pack of Evil, Wolf-Wrestling, Killer, Rapist, Vikings-From-Hell.

Really nice people!

I think they could have been part vampire aswell, because they couldn't stand the sun that good.

Here is a picture of when they caught Mehdi and started assaulting and man handling him. Poor guy, he didn't stand a chance against the Norwegian-bare-handed-bear-killers.

All kidding aside, they were really cool guys, and girl. Birdie came all the way from Norway to get the rest of his back started by Mehdi, He already had a piece by him that they started a couple of years ago in Copenhagen. Now he came back to get the rest of his back done.


We had a great time hanging out with these guys talking about wolf-wrestling-techniques, chewing 'cow dung' tobacco, and plundering villages in the old days.

That's a container of the cow dung tobacco, when you put it in your mouth for a while, it supposedly makes your breath smell like real viking breath and makes you irresistable to the viking women. Really potent stuff!


Mehdi got Birdie back pretty well for man-handling him earlier. With a 5 hour lining session on his sunburnt back.

All in all, take some awesome people, some awesome food, an awesome shop mix them all together and what you get is a pretty awesome time.

Flowers 'n Curls

Working in a tattoo shop, you will probably hear the words "flowers" and "curls" in the same sentence, about three million times a day, on avarege!



This is also what your average tattoer dreams about when he/she goes to sleep every night, pink flowers, curly lines and unicorns jumping over rainbows covered in candy and butterflies with shiny stars and happy little hearts all over the place.
