London Bridge Is Faling Down

Just a little update to let you guys know, we are back and better than ever!

With a super hi-tech special undercover top secret never seen before ultimate action sticker picture.
We built a Bunker tower in England next to the Big Ben. Ours was bigger than theirs.

We made a couple of sticker pictures ourselves whilst in England, and if you ask me, I'm in the lead!
So be quick and send in your pictures, I'll put up a special picture post sometime this week.

100 And Counting

Today is the 100th post!

I must admit it's quite a challenge, to come up with something new and exciting to write about, everyday. I haven't completely nailed that yet, but I'm well on my way. At least I have been able to post every day, wich is an accomplishment by itself if you ask me.
I'll give the next 100 posts a 110%, if you guys promise to check back 110 times a day, and tell everybody you know about the blog.
Sounds like a good deal if you ask me.

But for now we are off to the London Tattoo Convention. We will be back next tuesday. See you guys then.

Keep sending in those sticker pictures.

More Cover-ups

More cover-ups.... Enjoy.. i'm getting ready for this trip to London in a few hours

They're Here

Our friend Merlijn Zeeders came by today.
Not only is he a friend of ours, he is also our graphic designer and a graphic artist himself.
He is having an exposition of his digital artwork in Tilburg from the 7th to the 30th of September. Go and check it out.

We got one of the prints from his expo, and he came by to sign it today.
The cool thing about the print is that it has a lot of pictures from in and around Breda and even a couple from our tattoo shop incorporated into the final design.
There are still some limited edition prints available of his work, if you are interested you can contact him.
You can find more information about it on his site MadreDios.

Another thing that might be mention worthy, is that he didn't only come by to sign the picture, he also brought a little present with him.
That's right! The stickers are back, so let's get busy vandalising stuff.
Tomorrow is the last day this week you can come by and get some stickers from the shop. Seeing that we are heading to London on friday. However I'll make sure to drop of a couple of them at Bonk, Epic and Britain, so you can still pick them up when we are out of town.
Don't forget to send in pictures of all your sticker escapades. There will probably be a big sticker update as soon as we get back from London this weekend.

Tomorrow is the last blog update for this week, but it's a very special one, so don't forget to check it out.

Back When Old School Was Just School

Old school to the bone.
Swallow bones that is.

I got news today from our beloved Merlijn, that our stickers will be in tomorrow! Just in time, before we leave to London this friday. So be quick and come get some.

I also decided to postpone the final date of the competition a couple of weeks, seeing that we had a little delay with the stickers.

At the Barber Shop

I was at the barber shop the other day and ran into my homegirl, Naturee....i see she was cutting off all her hair...most of the time when a person do that it's for "rebirth".... Cut it off and dead that negative energy... So I wanted to show my love & support to all my brothers & sister cutting their crops and making room for new positive energy....sometimes you have to leave the material world to learn yourself...something as small as cutting off your hair is a good start to a new beginning and a new lifestyle....

Starting your day right....

I wake up around 8am-9am every morning... Thank the Most High... eat a good breakfast... Jog a few miles a day.... Work on my book for about 4 hours.... Take Rabbit to the dog park then walk over to City of Ink from my art studio....they say the way you start your day has a lot to do with how the rest of your day will go...between walking to work and the dog park I check my email, twitter, facebook... Or write a blog ... Try to start your day with positive energy... Thank God for another day on Earth... And don't waste a minute of your life... Even the small things count.

Love Hate Or Hate Love

I don't know what it is with Willem and feet, but he seems to tattoo an awful lot of them if you ask me.
It's starting to creep me out.
But then again, even if he is a creepy, old, weirdo, bearded foot lover, he still makes them look good.
This foot is one part of a pair of feet, amazing isn't it? The guy actually has two feet, he's a freak of nature.

The cool thing about it is that Willem is also going to do his other foot with a love theme, but more on that when we get there.
For now, have fun! Enjoy the weekend, and tell your mom you love her.

Quickie

A small update on the Garuda back Mehdi is working on.

And just to keep you guys interested and coming back, I will do a full information-education post on Garuda on the next update of this back. Just to get all of you schooled in tattoo symbolism, and symbolism in general.

Ying To The Yang

Mehdi started a new shoulder/quarter-sleeve/chestpiece or whatever you want to call it.

This is the result of the progress so far, just the lines for today. He'll be back soon, to get the rest done.
The guy wanted something to represent balance, with a dragon. So eventually he got himself two dragons so they balance each other out. I'll try to get some more background info about it on the next post.

What is "Black Art"??

Check out my lastest short interview..on the topic of "Black Art" a lot of people confuse me with doing "black art" because I'm black...but my subject matter is dream, love and imagination...I guess that would confuse people who don't really LOOK at the art and study what I'm trying to do...just check out the video...I will be doing weekly video blogs so be on the look out for the youtube channel "Miya Bailey"

African Style Sleeve

It's actually a cover-up... It was easy so I don't really count it as a coverup....I used images inspired by Africa...it was good taking it back to my roots

Shame On You

I got this picture in the mail today.
It's a great picture and great idea, sticking the bunker sticker on the photograph so that it looks as if the guy is wearing a Bunker shirt. Only thing is, it's stuck on a public photo exposition going on here in Breda.

Too bad I will have to disqualify this one aswell. I don't think it is a good idea to go out and vandalize public art with our stickers. So I'm sorry Dennis, seems like luck is not on your side with this contest.

A few tips for the next try: Don't vandalize art. Don't abuse animals. And stick on your stickers properly.

I got news today that the new stickers will be in by the end of this week, or otherwise the beginning of next week

Devil Girl Tattoo

My loyal friend & client, Big Mark came by yesterday and got this "She Devil" tattooed on his check... It was a 4-5 hour session.. Mark wanted a she devil... Who was thick, beautiful, soulful, curvy, and dark.... Thanks bruh.. Can't wait until next appointment

The Bold And The Beautiful

Willem and Roger are back in town. Wich is great and all, but I didn't know what to put on the blog.

So I took a picture of our soap dispenser, this is where we wash our hands, sixty times a day. That little picture of Roger is what still makes it worth while every day. Time and time again.
Washing your hands must be one of the most boring things you can do at the shop, so to make it all that little bit more exciting, I took the liberty of placing a semi-nude picture of Roger in the soap dispenser, for our entertainment, whilst washing up.

*Dramatic Drum Roll (*sound)

It's a tattoo picture. *applause

Mehdi started this japanese flower sleeve, with a hidden skull today. *cheering crowd

Next week should be a bit more exciting than the past week, as Willem and Roger are coming back.

And because of the fact that they are coming back, this would probably be a good time to publicly apologize for the things I said about them the past week, before they come back and kill me. So I'm sorry guys, I love you, don't hurt me.

The Dancer Tattoo

This 5 hour session kicked my ass yesterday.... I guess Im getting old because I feel it all in my back this morning... But at the end of the day I really enjoyed doing this piece...trying to get away from the "tattoo" feel...I came at this piece like it was a painting... A "Skin Painting" I wanted hard bold line work... With soft smooth black & grey shading to give it a soulful painting feel...she sat good for 5 hours... But I could tell it was starting to hurt her in the last 30 min...she made it and I finished it... Here you go...there is only one "City of Ink" and we do skin paintings there not just tattoos...
