I got a couple of picturas por mi trusty readers.

First off, a chest by Mehdi, wich is actually finished already. I can't find the  finished picture, so you'll have to do with this one for now.

Also I got this koi sleeve by Mehdi, wich I've had lying around for almost half a year now, maybe it's time to post it now.

I only have a little Phoenix by Florencio.

He actually finally got a smart phone, so he's figuring that out and posting more images on his facebook, with a lot of in progress work you won't see here on the blog, so go and befriend him aswell.

Willem decided to extend his urban-zoo animal collection with a Pigeon and a Trout.

Mehdi added a little piece to fill up Charlie's 3/4 to the wrist of a Indonesian dancer lady.

Der Koi Und Der Dragon

I'm not completely sure if I already posted the story of how the koi turns into a dragon here on the blog. So I'll keep it short, I don't want to be repeating myself, now do I?

The koi fish in Japanese folklore represents the overcoming of obstacles, because the koi fish travels up the yellow river and when it successfully climbs the waterfall at the end of the river it transforms into the dragon.

Thus representing that if one is able to overcome obstacles/challenges they will be greater for it.

Dim Sum Thursday

90 Minutes in and I'm still staring at a blank screen. All I got is this stupid title that doesn't even make any sense what so ever. We didn't even have dim sum today.

Pretty stupid I can think of anything relevant to say, because this is a
picture that could have quite some text with it.
But, by the looks of it, I think this one will pass by here a couple of times more before it's finished. So I'll have a second chance sometime soon to make up for today.


All I have to say is, this is Kees, he's getting a full bodysuit by Mehdi, and he has quite a way to go still.

You Never Seem To Get What You Want

A retarded man's wise mother once said: "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get."

That's exactly what happened to Mehdi's client today, he never would have guessed what he was going home with.

He came in, wanting to get the two tribals on his shoulders extended and connected on his back.
This is what it was supposed to look like.

Well... at least that was what he though it would eventually look like or vaguely resemble.

On the contrary, this is what he left with.

Mehdi started this little piece on Lucy.
She had an apointment to continue the shading on her still not done arm, but she thought it might be a better idea to suprise Mehdi and just start a new piece already.

Mehdi finally finished this sleeve today, it took him about 5 hours total.
Except for the fact he started it a year ago.

Big Fat Fishy

Mehdi finished the fat koi last week, I just didn't have time to post about it.
I don't think I have ever spent any time telling you the whole meaning behind the koi. And even if I did do so before, here it is again.

The Japanese koi in a nutshell.

According to Japanese legend, if a koi succeeds in climbing the falls at a point called Dragon Gate on the Yellow River, it would be transformed into a dragon. Based on that legend, it became a symbol of worldly aspiration and advancement.

The Japanese associate the koi with perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose. Because of its strength and determination to overcome obstacles, it stands for courage and the ability to attain high goals.

C'est Ça

Mehdi put the finishing touches on Dennis' koi front piece today.
It turned out pretty awesome to say the least. I'll post a picture of the healed piece as soon as I get it.
Dennis will be back in a couple of months anyway, to start the other side of his chest, wich will consist of stuff I'm really not supposed to be sharing with you right now. You didn't get this from me, but there might be a skull in there and maybe even a snake or two.



Dennis even got me a club sandwich, so I could tell all of you what a great guy he is.

Big Old-Fashioned Update

As you might have read already, it's time for a big good old-fashioned update, starting off with a piece Roger made today. On a sweet girl who just so happened to have cracked the code of life. Wich Plato, Socrates or even Darwin could not quite do. Her tattoo says it all.
So forget all those philosophers and scientist with their complex theory's trying to explain the meaning of life. Just live life with passion, enjoy every day to the fullest while you still can, or you will regret it later.

Next up is our cave animal Willem, he added a pinch of green to the trout leg, wich sounds weird, because trout don't have legs. They're fish, fish have fins.
It's not finished just yet, probably one more session for the background and to tie everything together.

Last but certainly not least we have a piece Mehdi started today, of a big fat koi fish.

First session done, more to come.

Tomorrow is tattoo education day again, so get out your pens and pads.

Strong Arm Of The Law

Mister Officer was back today, to start packing some color into his chest. There's not that much I can say about this piece anymore, it has been on here a couple hundred times already. Except for now it has color in it.

It Says I Should Enter The Title Here

Roger started a really bold old-school sleeve today.
You only get to see a little preview today, more pictures as it progresses.

Tony finished up a piece I posted on a while back.
It's the cover-up koi sleeve. There is a name under there somewhere, and the little butterfly you still see got rejuvenated. It got a little bit of butterfly Botox, and some saggy skin tightened around the eyes.

And yesterday besides being interviewed all day Mehdi also got some work done on the Yama back piece.

Tony Koipers

Because of the amount of koi sleeves Tony is working on, we officially changed his name from Tony Kuijpers to Tony Koipers.
Need I say more?

Free Willy

First off, I want to tell you guys, that we had to send Willem away.

He was starting to creep us out with his epic beard.
So we had to send him off to Berlin. I am not allowed to tell anyone about the treatment or his exact whereabouts.
All I can say is that he is in good hands and we hope he will be back soon, shaved and cheerful as always.

Furthermore, a couple of tattoos done this past Saturday, wich I was unable to post because of the 9 year anniversary post.

Ironically, Mehdi finished up the Maneki Neko sleeve, on the 9 year anniversary of the shop. As you might remember the Maneki Neko brings good luck and good fortune to your place of business. This can only mean good things for the future of the shop.

Tony started coloring on this here old-school leg, last week aswell.

Today he started this girly koi sleeve.

He wanted to keep it as feminine as possible, so he used more flowers and les hard background.

Last but not least here is yet another sleeve Tony started a while back.
