The Gate Keeper

Frank was back today to get some more work done on his Yama backpiece.


Yama is the Hindu lord of death. The Vedas describe him as the first man who died, blazing the path of mortality down which all men have since followed. He weighs the good and evil deeds of the dead and determines their retribution.

The guys here at the shop weren't to happy with the beautiful pictures of them I put in last weeks post, seeing that I didn't put one of myself on there aswell.
So after a quick photo session with Willem, whom was feeling a bit better today, I was forced to put up a picture of myself.



So now you know who takes the time to write to all you wonderful people everyday and keep you updated with the shop. You can even see the drawing I did for Willem in the background there.

Ancient Artifacts

We are going archaeological on this post.

Mehdi tattooed an old friend today, whom just happened to have some of his first tattoos. Wich was really cool to see.

These prehistoric tattoos date back to over 15 years ago.


They're holding up pretty well after all those years.



Actually the one on top did not look like this when Mehdi first did it. It was a really young warrior, but years gone by and he got older, now it looks like an old chief.

More old skool action on Rogers side of the fence. Not so much the tattoo itself but the style sure is.


Lining and shading were done today, color still to come.

And this next tattoo by Tony could have gone well with the ancient tattoos theme, seeing that it is a cover-up, covering an old tribal.
Except for the fact that Tony never actually remembers to take a "before" picture, so we can not backup the claim of this being ancient aswell.

Angel Sleeve

I did this piece over in Queens, NY at One Stroke Tattoo... I like the vibe of their shop.. Everyone was really cool and down to earth... Filming in Queens, NY

Me and AJ aka Artemus Jenkins have been hard at work on our film project... This film is based on the lives and struggles of black tattoo artists in America....it will teach the people the difference between scratchers, tattooist, and tattoo artists... Me, Artemus, and Corey hit up One Stroke... A tattoo shop in Queens ,NY.....like I said before this film WILL change how the black community view this art form.... We will have to destroy the so-called "urban" tattoo scene and rebuild after the people have a true understanding what tattoos on skin of color suppose to look like, cost, and what training your tattoo artist suppose to have before he or her even touch your skin.... Get Yourself Together

For some reason Tuesdays are never that "happeningful", if thats even a word.
Today was no exception to the others.

Except for our beloved Willem whom was not feeling so good today, so he took the day off to get some sleep, hopefully he will be back tomorrow.

I even made a little drawing for him to make him feel better.

I hope he likes it!

No matter what city I'm in....I will hit up the hood...you meet the coolest people when your not afraid to seat down and hold a convo... You never know what you will learn... Be humble and you can travel anywhere.. You never know who you will need in life... So never judge people.... Rich or poor... Hood or hollywod.... Humans are humans... Jordans & G.I.Joe fitted

Damn I remember these from back in the days... I had to give my Icky some props on these...








After Icky bragged for a few minutes about his sneaker game....I told him I been thinking about retiring all my fitted and start wearing less hats and leave the fitted to the young folks.... I might even sell my collection on eBay or right here on my blog spot... Then he had to show me these... He KNOW I LOVE G.I.Joe....these 2 fitted hats go super hard!!
